How humbling and exciting it is to be in start up mode again! As a business strategist, consultant, & publisher for the past decade, I’ve helped so many authors and clients launch their new ventures, I’ve been the midwife and cheerleader, coaxing and sometimes yelling PUSH PUSH to them…but I can tell you, launching a new venture is FUN, scary, and delicious. (and fun-scary:))

But something is so new this time. I am really practicing what I’ve learned from Gay & Katie Hendricks: Essence Pace. Essence pace is the pace at which your soul moves. If we are in our essence, our soul, the fear does subside and the love & creativity flow. 

I’ve had a chance to examine the fears that arise with risk: the 3am panic wake up, the messy office, balancing my family with working late, hiccups and setbacks, training a new team, a ton of unknowns, and also the joy of being mentored by Gay and Katie Hendricks…not to mention the massive support of all of you. Because community is the point, and you are my community!

I was alone when I launched Gypsy Tea, and a community rose up and helped, and now I have all of you. Thank-you.

Magic Hour is past her due date! But is now scheduled for February 4th, just in time to receive the first love-ritual box. (LOVE-RITUAL BOX!? YAY!) It includes our famous Coconut Chai (the best version ever), a gorgeous Club MagicHour video teaching from the Hendricks–teaching you how to deepen your connection to those you love with the simple toss of a balloon. (fun is the point :)).

Mia, my 9-year-old and I have been practicing this teaching and it works with not only a lover, but family and even colleagues. 

Many of you have asked what Magic Hour is exactly. 

Is it a tea company? 

Is it a publishing house? 

What oh what is it?

Well, it’s a little bit of both, but simply put, it’s a monthly subscription box filled with tea, curated wisdom teachings and love…all to help you have your own Ceremony of Connection--every day. 

It’s my heart and soul at work in service to your growth and quality of life.

Because the world does not need another company, and I don’t want to run just a business.

I have been called to carry something forward, as risky and uncomfortable as building something new is, I have been called to bring you a way to connect anew and become more acquainted with the divinity within you and our world.

The mission of Magic Hour is to help you create more time for conscious connection, and to nourish your soul with meaningful conversation, exchange, kindness, and compassion. Even when we’re in a funk, Magic Hour will be there for us.

Magic Hour exists because:

The world needs more togetherness, less divisiveness.

More mentoring, less judging.

More connection, less loneliness.

More love, less fear.

So, that is what Magic Hour is in idea and intention.

Magic Hour is a club with a mission to creation more connection in the world. 

So, where did the Idea come from?

In China, I learned how to do tea ceremony. I sat at many tea tables with elders and they taught me how to serve tea, how to share, and how to mostly create a safe place for that sharing through the serving of tea—cup after cup.

The Chinese tea masters told me that a tea ceremony master traditionally had to be at least 40 years old. Why? Because their job was to mentor, impart wisdom, and guide those who came to them and that ability came with age.

Honoring our elders is part of tea culture.

Connection is part of tea culture.

Sharing is part of tea culture.

I spent time thinking about this, mulling it over in my mind. How could I combine all of these things in a single endeavor? Would I need to open mentoring tea houses? Would I need to start another tea company? I never wanted just to be a business owner trading tea for money, that was never my intention. The Gypsy Tea Parties I used to throw were about celebrating each other. Celebrating the feminine and creativity. But I wasn’t going to start another tea party company either.

For months, I couldn’t find the way forward. I researched virtual reality options, retail location options, you name it, I explored it.  

Then one morning, as the sun was rising, my husband and I were having our tea time. We always said that our dawn tea time was what made our marriage “magic.” One morning we even thought we’d write a book about having a “magic marriage” and we were so caffeinated and optimistic, we even bought a URL MagicMarriage.com for $1500!! Goodness we are enthusiastic!

That night, as Gerard and I sat on the floor at my mentors’ Gay and Katie Hendricks’ home, all of the sudden, Gay looks over at Katie and big tears welled up in his eyes. He then said to her, “Katie, in our nearly 40 years, I don’t think I have ever witnessed you to be quite as beautiful as you are right this very minute. It is my greatest honor to be in this life with you.”

She put her hands to her chest and they gazed at one another for some time in the most appreciative, precious, and world-changing way. As I was sitting there, watching them, I began to cry, but not because of the beauty alone in that moment, but in the fact that so few people in our world are given a chance to see and witness such love. They are the reason I am married to Gerard, they were the very mentors who showed me how to be in relationship.  

I then realized I could bring this experience and others to you.

If I could bring a camera into the homes of wisdom teachers, and combine the essence of their most applicable teachings to you, along with tea ceremony, we could create more conscious connection—not in a retail location, but in your home. You would become the recipient of the teachings, and you would also receive the tea. So how to do that?

As if you are having tea with them. Because, well, you are.
