Lauri Burns–Founder of the Teen Project & Freehab
40 Percent of our US homeless population are kids who have aged out of foster care. Lauri Burns aged out of foster care and became homeless. She began prostituting to support herself and a heroin addiction. One day two johns left her for dead on the side of the road and she was saved by a stranger. She turned her life around and became a foster parent, she’s raised 47 children and now heads up Freehab, the first free rehab for teens, as well as the Teen Project which has rehabilitated 161 kids in 6 months.
